A new category celebrates outstanding personal achievement exclusively for International Safety Awards applicants.
Auto entry awards
International Safety Award applicants are automatically considered for these additional awards where relevant. No separate application is required.
Best in Country Award
All International Safety Award applicants are considered where there is a significant number of applications from the same country. The highest-scoring overall application is awarded.
Best in Company Award
For organisations with 50 or more participating sites, recognising the site or sites with the most outstanding applications.
Chief Adjudicator's Award
Awarded to the International Safety Awards application that achieves the highest score each year. No additional submission is required.
Safety Progress Awards
Now open for applications, the Safety Progress Awards recognise a whole organisation, business unit, site, region or defined project making practical, evidence-led progress in protecting people and improving workplace health, safety and wellbeing.
Built around leadership, risk, culture, capability, performance and learning, the awards are non-competitive and assessed against a clear Safety Progress framework, allowing organisations of different sizes, sectors and levels of maturity to be recognised.

Free-to-enter award categories
These awards are open to all and are now accepting entries until 1 March 2027. You do not need to purchase an International Safety Award application to enter.
By applying, successful entrants agree to attend the International Safety Awards 2027 Gala Dinner to receive their award, permit use of their organisation and logo in British Safety Council promotional activity, and work with us on digital content promoting their achievement and the awards.
Innovation of a Decade Award New for 2027
Recognises an outstanding project or initiative introduced during the past ten years that has delivered a significant, sustained and measurable improvement in workplace health, safety or wellbeing.
Innovation in Health Award in collaboration with HSE’s Prevention Programme
Recognises pioneering initiatives that have made a significant and measurable impact on preventing work-related health issues.
David Parr Medal
Recognises a public venue that developed a stand-out initiative in 2026 with a significant impact on health, safety or wellbeing.
Environmental Award
Recognises use of climate-change risk assessment and vulnerability modelling to plan future adaptation strategies.
Health, Safety and Wellbeing Ambassador of the Year
Recognises an employee who has played a significant role in protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of colleagues and others.
Health and Safety Transformation Award
Recognises organisations that have significantly transformed any aspect of health, safety or wellbeing through the use of information.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Voted for by British Safety Council Trustees and presented to people who have made an outstanding career-long contribution.
Rising Female Star Award in collaboration with SOWSHE-A
Recognises women breaking through and shaping future leadership in health, safety, wellbeing or environmental management.
Seize the Opportunity Award
Recognises organisations that have gone the extra mile to seize health, safety or wellbeing opportunities arising from a crisis.
The CEO Award

Adjudication process and results
Written applications are marked by an independent panel of adjudicators appointed, trained and monitored by British Safety Council. Adjudicators are senior health, safety, wellbeing and environmental practitioners. A rigorous standardisation process helps ensure every application is assessed consistently against the same marking scheme.
