Course overview
PPE acts as the final layer of protection when hazards cannot be removed or controlled by other means. This awareness course is for individuals who either wear PPE daily such as skilled personnel and apprentices, and those who frequently enter PPE zone requirements.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, you will be able to:
- Identify your legal duties and responsibilities as employees when using PPE, and recognise employer obligations under UK and international regulations.
- Describe the process for selecting appropriate PPE based on workplace hazards, risk assessments, and PPE markings and certifications.
- Recognise when and how to raise concerns about PPE suitability, fit, or performance with managers and duty holders.
- Understand how cultural, equality, and accessibility considerations impact PPE effectiveness and inclusivity for all workers.
- Identify opportunities to contribute feedback for the continuous improvement of workplace PPE programmes.
