Learning outcomes
This self-paced Risk Assessment course is designed to give learners a strong foundation in the risk assessment process, and the confidence to contribute effectively to risk assessing activities by helping them to identify, evaluate, and control risks effectively. It can also be used as a refresher for responsible persons.
On completion of the course, learners will be able to:
- Understand the importance of risk assessments
- Identify risks and hazard categories
- Evaluate risks using a risk matrix
- Use the hierarchy of controls to identify risk reduction opportunities
- Understand the principles of controlling risks
- Understand how a risk assessment is undertaken in practice.

Assessment and results
At the end of the course you will need to complete a multiple-choice assessment and an interactive risk assessment activity, which will test your knowledge and understanding of a risk assessment.
Qualification level
This is a non-accredited course. It does not result in a formal qualification.
