Health and Safety Champion and Young Health and Safety Champion
There will be two special individual awards presented alongside the International Safety Awards. One for the “Health and Safety Champion of the Year” and the second for the “Young Health and Safety Champion of the Year”.
In 2014, these individual awards went to Gary Parkinson, from Clugston Construction, who won the Health and Safety Champion of the Year award, and Ben Gordon, from BAE Systems Maritime Services, who won the Young Health and Safety Champion of the Year award.
These two awards are an opportunity for organisations already submitting a 2015 International Safety Award application to nominate individual employees for their contribution to the organisation’s overall improvements in health, safety and welfare on site. The requirement was that their contribution was over and above their role and that their main role is not health and safety related. This was free to enter to any organisation completing a 2015 International Safety Award application.
A shortlist of candidates for these two awards will be announced by the British Safety Council ahead of the Gala Dinner. The chair of the judges panel will announce the winners at the Gala Dinner taking place on Friday 24 April 2015 in London.
