Course overview

This course aims to raise awareness of the risks associated with abrasive wheels and how to reduce these risks through safe practices in their storage, handling, selection, inspection and use.

This digital course is designed to complement your practical training and should not be considered a substitute for hands-on training, instruction and supervision.

This course is suitable for anyone who works with abrasive wheels, who may be from but not limited to the construction, manufacturing, metalworking, artisan and mechanical industries.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, you will be able to:

  1. Identify the risks associated with abrasive wheels.
  2. Recognise safe and unsafe storage, handling and maintenance procedures.
  3. Define the correct selection and inspection processes.
  4. Select best practices for mounting and using abrasive wheels safely.
