Ian Travers is the former Deputy Director (Chemical Regulation) at the UK Health and Safety Executive. He has over thirty years of experience in regulating chemical and major hazard industries, as well as investigating major incidents to identify their root causes. An acknowledged expert in process safety management and leadership, Ian has been instrumental in developing and implementing key performance indicators for major hazard sectors.
Ian offers unique insight into how regulators assess and verify risk management systems across the chemical, oil, gas and wider major hazard industries. Since moving into the private sector in 2015, he has worked with organisations in the energy, chemical and fuel sectors to strengthen their risk management and asset integrity practices.
