British Safety Council announced today (Wednesday) it has appointed three new Trustees to its Board; Sachit Rajan, Sarah Adamson, and Richard Daniels.
Welcoming the appointment of the three new Board members, Peter McGettrick, Chairman of British Safety Council, said:

Each brings extensive expertise in their own fields, including in investment, risk management and health and safety and I am sure all three will make a significant contribution to the organisation’s continued success, as we build on nearly 70 years as a world-leading health, safety and wellbeing charity.
“Our most recent appointee, Richard Daniels, has over 34 years’ experience of working in the Health and Safety Executive, most recently as Director of the Chemicals Regulation Division. Sarah Adamson is Managing Director of SC Limited, an advisory and risk management organisation focused on the fire and resilience sector, and Sachit Rajan is a strategy, governance and investment professional with extensive experience advising boards and executive teams across growth-stage and regulated environments.”
As well as her role at SC Limited, Sarah Adamson is Vice Chair of the Fire Industry Association Export Council and an elected member of the Fire and Rescue Suppliers Association. Her work includes leading major programmes for the UK Government and advising on the development of fire and rescue capability globally. Sarah brings significant experience in governance, international engagement and sector leadership, together with a strong commitment to improving safety, resilience and professional standards.
During his time working in the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Richard Daniels has held numerous leadership positions including as Her (late) Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Explosives and was elected as an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Explosive Engineers. As Director of the Chemicals Regulation Division in HSE, Richard oversees regulation of the market supply of safe and sustainable use of chemicals in the UK and successfully led HSE’s arrangements for transforming CRD into Great Britain’s Chemicals Regulator following the UK’s leaving the European Union.
With a background in organisational oversight, risk management and value creation Sachit Rajan brings particular expertise in business transformation, ESG integration and long-term sustainability. Sachit has worked closely with founders, investors and leadership teams to scale organisations responsibly, strengthen governance frameworks and align operational performance with strategic objectives. His experience spans multiple geographies and sectors, supporting complex change initiatives and the adoption of best-practice operating models.
