Brief description of the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant – Accounts Receivable and Banking to join our Finance team and play an important role in keeping our day-to-day financial operations running smoothly.

You will take ownership of a varied range of activities, including allocating cash receipts, completing bank reconciliations, processing manual invoices and credit notes, and responding to customer payment queries. You will also support credit control activities for Mates in Mind, our sister charity, and work with colleagues to identify opportunities to improve and automate our accounts receivable processes.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is organised, numerate and detail-focused, enjoys solving problems and working with others, and is interested in finding smarter and more efficient ways of working.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who:

  • Experience working with financial data, finance systems and transactional finance processes
  • Good numerical skills with strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confidence managing a high volume of customer enquiries by phone and email
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different teams
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Confidence using technology and an interest in process improvement, automation and finding more efficient ways of working
  • Ability to learn new systems, processes and information quickly
  • A proactive, accurate and results-focused approach to work
  • Experience using Certinia would be an advantage
