Commenting on the Budget statement today (Wednesday 28 October) by the Chancellor, Charlotte Walshe, Strategic and Impact Director of British Safety Council, said:
“This Budget offers welcome help with household bills and business costs, but no new funding for the regulators responsible for keeping people safe at work is a missed opportunity to link economic growth, productivity, and most importantly people.
“Investment in growth must go hand in hand with investment in health, safety, and wellbeing, not as an afterthought, but as a foundation of a modern and sustainable economy fit to meet the challenges of the future.”
