Course overview
This course provides awareness of what asbestos is, where it might be found, the effects of asbestos exposure and what should normally be put in place to reduce the chances of asbestos exposure.
This course provides awareness in these areas and is not intended as competence to work with asbestos or asbestos-containing materials (ACM).
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course learners will know how to:
- Identify the origins of asbestos and its ill health effects
- Identify common asbestos-containing materials and where they might be found
- Take appropriate actions to minimise the risk of exposure to asbestos
