What is this course?

Exposure to loud workplace noise has the potential to damage your hearing beyond repair. Noise-induced hearing loss is preventable but often happens gradually, so can be hard to spot until it's too late.

Protecting Your Hearing at Work is a concise course designed to help workers understand the dangers of workplace noise exposure and how to manage associated risks. Participants will learn about the Noise at Work guidelines, acceptable noise levels, and methods for assessing and controlling noise. The course also covers appropriate hearing protection. By the end, learners will be able to recognise the health effects of noise, identify workplace noise controls, and explain their responsibilities as employees in protecting their hearing.

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at employees exposed to intrusive noise at work, such as those who use noisy tools or machinery, where tasks produce impact noise, such as hammering or pneumatic impact, and those who work in industries known for noisy tasks, such as but not limited to, construction, woodworking, engineering and manufacturing.

It is suitable for supervisors.
