Webinar argues slowing down is one of the most important safety leadership skills in the age of AI, with NEBOSH’s Dee Arp
ecoPortal, a leading provider of health and safety management software, will host the next session of its Safety Voices webinar series in the UK on 11 November. “Slow Down to Keep Up: Safety Leadership in an AI-Accelerated World” will feature the speaker Dee Arp, chief quality officer at NEBOSH, at 2 PM GMT. Register for your free spot here.
The monthly thought leadership webinar series is aimed at health and safety and risk professionals, team leaders and managers, senior leaders and executives, HR and people and culture leaders, and anyone responsible for workplace health and safety outcomes. Live attendees receive a certificate that counts towards their CPD.

Organisations in every sector are racing to adopt AI, often out of fear of being left behind rather than a clear view of where it adds value. For a profession built on care, the session asks how health and safety professionals can use what AI offers without losing the kindness, presence and time for people that make safety work.
Host Julian Taylor will speak with Dee about the need to pause amid relentless change, starting with safety professionals themselves, so there is still room for the simple act of checking in with a colleague.
The NEBOSH executive will also bring the perspective of an awarding body. As AI changes what professionals do every day, qualifications and assessments must keep pace. Dee will share how learning providers are beginning to respond and the challenge AI poses to open-book exams and practical assessments. She will argue that the answer may lie less in policing malpractice and more in redesigning assessment around real professional practice, where AI may draft a policy, but a human expert must still review it.
