The Mental Health First Aid course

In workplaces across the UK, thousands of people with poor mental health are suffering in silence, unable to share their problems with colleagues or managers.

77% of employees say they have experienced symptoms of poor mental health and 29% have been diagnosed with a mental health condition.

Accredited by Mental Health First Aid England, this two-day course will give you a greater understanding of mental health and wellbeing and enable you to identify the key signs of mental ill-health.  You will learn how to deliver timely and appropriate support to someone who is unwell to increase their chance of recovery.

Upon completion of the course you will receive a certificate from Mental Health First Aid England.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Recognise the symptoms of mental ill-health
  • Provide initial help
  • Guide the person towards appropriate professional help
  • Be mindful of your own wellbeing

Your wellbeing

Sometimes students experience distress when mental health topics are being discussed. Should this happen to you, your experienced and caring tutor will ensure you are given appropriate support. Tutors will also ensure that students not experiencing distress are able to continue with their learning.
