Policy

We endorse the right of organisations to enquire about their result. Procedures are in place to ensure that result enquiries are dealt with thoroughly and fairly.

Result enquiries

A result enquiry may result in a grade being confirmed, raised or lowered. Where a grade is changed, the new grade will replace the original grade as final (whether this is higher or lower than the original grade).

There are four result enquiry services available. Only one result enquiry is permitted per submission.

You must use the Result Enquiry Application Form. Payment must accompany the application for your result enquiry to be considered.

Result enquiries involve a review of the original application and/or marks. No additional evidence can be considered at this stage.

Result enquiries must be received with the appropriate fee by 23:59 GMT on Friday 26 October 2018. We reserve the right to decline result enquiries if they are received after this time.

Completed application forms should be emailed to awards@britsafe.org. Please ensure the nature of the enquiry is clearly indicated in the subject header. If you are sending a scanned copy of the form please ensure that it is of a reasonably high resolution.

Service one: breakdown of marks

This service provides applicants with a simple breakdown of their marks (i.e. the marks scored for each question). The fee is £25 + VAT.

Marks will be issued to the applicant organisation within approximately two working days.

Service two: re-mark

This service involves a re-mark of the application by the Chief Adjudicator (or, if the application was originally marked by the Chief Adjudicator, by another senior adjudicator). Marks may go up or down as an outcome of the re-mark.

The fee is £60 + VAT.

The outcome of the re-mark will be reported to the applicant organisation in writing within 20 working days. If the re-mark results in a change of grade, the fee will be refunded.

Service three: feedback

This service involves the application being sent to an adjudicator and a brief report (typically around one side of A4) being prepared in relation to each question. This will include a breakdown of marks (service one).

The fee is £145 + VAT.

Feedback will be issued to the applicant organisation in writing within 20 working days.

Service four: re-mark and feedback

This service combines services two and three and operates on the same terms.

The fee is £195 + VAT.

The outcomes will be reported to the applicant organisation in writing within 20 working days. If the re-mark results in a change of grade, the re-mark fee will be refunded.

 

Applications for all result enquiry services must be received with the appropriate fee by 23:59 GMT on Friday 26 October 2018.
