Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit

The most comprehensive, contemporary, quantified audit process available, which allows you to test your health and safety performance against the latest legislation, recognised standards and best practice techniques.

Detailed recommendations and advice will support your continual improvement as you strive to achieve best practice standards. The audit specification model includes five best practice indicators which are continually assessed throughout the audit process:

  • Leadership
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Risk management
  • Organisational health and safety culture
  • Continual improvement.

There is an emphasis on the organisation’s approach to occupational health and wellbeing, safety culture, safety leadership, stakeholder participation, behavioural safety and the way in which psychosocial issues are identified and controlled.

The audit goes far beyond the requirements of current health and safety management systems such as OHSAS 18001. Undertaking this audit allows you to demonstrate your commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety standards to your employees, clients and other stakeholders.

The Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit is designed to be applied to any type of organisation and can be adopted as a strategic plan as you strive to achieve best practice status.

How does it work?

Our vastly experienced auditors carry out a comprehensive holistic analysis of data and information about your health and safety management system and associated arrangements.

Information is gathered through data sampling, documentation review, interviews with key employees/stakeholders and sampling of operational activities.

The final audit report is provided within 28 days of the audit completion and identifies areas of good/best practice and areas for improvement. Detailed recommendations are provided, which can support more effective targeting of resources.

Our unique quantified criteria provide outcomes for sixty two elements, as well as an overall star graded outcome ranging between zero and five stars.

Organisations that achieve the maximum five-star rating are invited to enter our prestigious Sword of Honour Awards scheme.
