Update on British Safety Council face to face services

With another UK lockdown in effect from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December, I wanted to give all our members and customers a quick update on what’s been happening at British Safety Council over the last few months and also confirm what services we will be running during this time.

Since the original lockdown, we have made radical changes to our processes to ensure that organisations can access the information and resources they need to maintain and develop high standards of health and safety practices. In major changes to the delivery of health and safety audits and consultancy, British Safety Council launched remote auditing and consultancy services earlier in the year. This enabled organisations to proceed with planned or newly required audits and consultancy even during lockdowns.

We have also led the way in delivering training via fully interactive Live Online courses, connecting students to a virtual classroom with the same access to tutors who deliver British Safety Council face-to-face training. Live Online is another example of our commitment to ensure that organisations, employers and employees feel fully supported in developing and maintaining vital health and safety practices.

In May, we launched a new COVID-10 Assurance Assessment Service to support organisations returning to work. Aligning with this, a detailed return to work guide could be used across all sectors and enables organisations to develop robust new processes and protocols to keep employers and their customers safe. The service is designed to ensure that employers manage the risk of transmission of COVID-19 as far as is possible within their workplace.

With another lockdown upon us, it has never been more important that we provide the services members and customers need, particularly where many industries like essential retail, public services and construction are remaining fully operational.

During this period, I encourage you to take advantage of our remote services, which have had superb feedback and results. However, if you still require face to face services, we are very happy to provide these, subject to our usual risk assessments. Where services take place face to face, you can be confident that we will follow the detailed COVID guidelines we have promoted so extensively and ensure that environments are COVID Secure.

British Safety Council is proud to be at the forefront of the continuously evolving situation. Ultimately, we want to support organisations to maintain high health and safety standards throughout this difficult time.

If you require further information on our training, audit and consultancy services please speak to your account manager, email us at [email protected] or call us on +44 (0)20 3510 8355.
