Celebrate your success at International Safety Awards Dinner

Organisations are being urged to book now for the British Safety Council’s spectacular 2014 International Safety Awards Gala Dinner.

The dinner takes place in London on Friday 25 April, avoid missing out on one of the health and safety world’s most prestigious award ceremonies.

Taking place at the famous Grosvenor House Hotel on Mayfair’s Park Lane, the black tie event enables the winners of this year’s International Safety Awards to celebrate with an evening of fine dining, entertainment and dancing at one of Europe’s premier banqueting venues. The gala dinner is open to any organisation in the UK and overseas that wishes to mark its health and safety achievements, and will be attended by hundreds of guests from businesses around the globe.

Alex Botha, chief executive of the British Safety Council, said: “The International Safety Awards recognise those organisations that have shown a real dedication and commitment to preventing injury and ill health at work, and the gala dinner is a great way both to celebrate this success and to reward your employees for all their hard work in helping to keep your workplaces and colleagues healthy and safe.

“The gala dinner is also a perfect way of promoting and publicising your health and safety achievements by inviting clients, customers, contractors and business partners to celebrate with you on the night, and provides excellent networking opportunities, with hundreds of like-minded organisations committed to keeping their workforce healthy and safe.
“The International Safety Awards rightly recognise that sensible and well-managed health and safety is a business enabler, bringing both financial and social benefits for their organisation and their people. I look forward to celebrating this on the night with the winners of this year’s awards and all other organisations attending, all of whom are committed to health and safety excellence.”

The gala dinner

The evening will begin with the formal presentation of the award certificates and official presentation photographs, followed by a sumptuous three-course dinner. Following the congratulatory speeches, organisations that achieve a distinction and win the new industry sector awards will receive their winners’ trophies, plaques and certificates in front of the assembled audience.

There will also be official presentations to the winners of the two individual awards – the Health and Safety Champion of the Year and the Young Health and Safety Champion of the Year. These awards will recognise those individuals who have gone the extra mile in ensuring the health, safety and welfare of colleagues and others.

An evening of fabulous entertainment and cabaret will then follow, and guests will be able to dance the night away to the sounds of a superb live band.

Fred Brookes, environment, health, safety, security and quality manager at Magnox’s Wyfla Power Station, said: “It’s a great night; the Grosvenor House really is an impressive venue, and the food and the entertainment are excellent. The gala dinner is a way of saying thank you to some of the people that have supported the delivery of our health and safety programme.

“We have also made some useful contacts at the ceremony that have helped us to maintain progress on our improvement journey.”
