Diploma in Environmental Management
Course overview
The Diploma aims to provide those with environmental responsibilities with the essential knowledge, understanding and practical skills necessary to achieve good environmental practice within their own organisations. The course includes familiarisation with the latest technologies, techniques and environmental management strategies being employed around the world today.
The authoritative environmental qualification
The DipEM is delivered as a three-week, modular programme, each module focusing on separate but related elements of environmental management.Lessons comprise tutor instruction, workshops and audio-visual presentations. Completion of the DipEM will enable you to develop and integrate environmental management systems in line with corporate strategic objectives in order to drive business success.

Learning outcomes are grouped into three elements
- Environmental Awareness & Compliance
- Environmental Management Systems
- Environmental Tools and Techniques
Assessment
Assessment is by multiple-choice examination and work-based assignment, which demonstrates candidates' understanding and application of the subject matter. Candidates must pass the examination and the assignment in order to pass the diploma.
Successful candidates gain a nationally recognised qualification awarded at a prestigious ceremony. They can then use the letters DipEM after their names.
Holders of the DipEM are entitled to Associate Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). In addition, candidates gain two points towards registration under the IEMA Environmental Auditors Registration Scheme.
