Becoming a Registered Centre for the Level 1 Certificate in Health and Safety at Work

A registered centre is an organisation registered with the BSC to deliver the Level 1 Certificate in Health and Safety at Work and hold examinations at its location on dates and at times of its choice.

Key Benefit

Allows organisations to deliver in-house training using learning materials supplied by the BSC and then hold examinations at their location which lead to a nationally-recognised qualification.

How it Works

  1. Organisation registers with the BSC for a fee of £495 + VAT (BSC Members) £ and 595 + VAT (non-BSC Members) with an annual renewal fee of £100 + VAT.
  2. The BSC provides photocopiable student handouts, Powerpoint slides and lesson plans.
  3. Organisation prepares its candidates for the assessment (the course can be delivered in one day).
  4. Organisation books examinations with the BSC for date(s) and time(s) of its choosing. Examination fee £10.21 per candidate (+VAT).
  5. The BSC despatches examination question papers to organisation.
  6. Organisation administers (invigilates) the examination and returns answer forms to the BSC for marking.
  7. The BSC issues results and qualification certificates within five working days.
