Notice to British Safety Council Members

Dear member,

It has come to our attention that a magazine entitled Building, Design and Construction – BDC (or BDC UK) is contacting British Safety Council award winners and offering them free editorial using our name. BDC is also asking winners for the contact details of key contractors and suppliers who can be contacted for advertising opportunities.

BDC has implied that they are affiliated with the British Safety Council and working on our behalf. This is not the case. They have also in the past used logos and electronic signatures from our staff to endorse their magazine. This again was not sanctioned by us. We have had similar reports from members who have been contacted by other magazines. We do not have any relationship of this kind with external magazines.

If members would like to take up the editorial, that is of course up to them. Being a British Safety Council award winner is a great achievement and creates positive publicity and editorial. We do not, however, support or condone publications which say that they are calling on behalf of the British Safety Council.
