BSC Examination Technique Day

for the Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health

This free event is intended to help candidates prepare for the Level 3 Certificate examination.

The day will be led by Adam Skeens, Director of Qualifications, British Safety Council Examinations. The various sessions will focus on examination answer technique, rather than actual subject content.

Candidates will:

  1. gain an insight into how the examination is set and marked;
  2. practise answering examination questions under timed conditions;
  3. see where marks were won and lost on previous candidate scripts.

10.00am - 4.00pm (Registration from 9.30am)

  • 0930 - 1000     Registration
  • 1000 - 1015     Introduction to British Safety Council Awards
  • 1015 - 1045     The setting and marking of Level 3 examinations
  • 1045 - 1145     Component 1 (short-answer paper)
  • 1145 - 1200     Break
  • 1200 - 1300     Practice questions
  • 1300 - 1345     Break
  • 1345 - 1445     Component 2 (risk assessment task)
  • 1445 - 1530     Practice risk assessment task
  • 1530 - 1600     Plenary and close
  • Candidates are responsible for their own lunch arrangements.

A maximum of 80 places are available on a first-come, first served basis.
